Rotherham finished Coventrys unbeaten start to the year in emphatic fashion with a success in the New York Stadium.
Since riot conducted, matt Crooks struck for Rotherham either side of 2 Michael Smith penalties.
Coventry skipper Kyle McFadzean had a day to forget playing a role in giving both spot-kicks off as well as being shipped off.
The hosts have been before 13 seconds as Crooks header was too powerful for Marko Marosi to keep out.
The lead was dropped at the 19th minute when Michael Smith fired home from the spot after Marosi after a short pass from McFadzean had tripped him.
Jake Hastie might have left a start actually worse but he was denied by Marosi along with the rebound from Crooks was kept out.
When Smith netted his second penalty of the game, rotherham didnt add a third goal in the 58th minute, however.
McFadzean gave it away after bringing down Crooks clumsily and that he had been sent off by referee Darren Handley.
Yet another defensive mix-up contributed to Rotherham goal with all Crooks poking beyond Marosi later Michael Rose switched off in his feet, in the 75th minute.
