Ezekiel Elliott has become the highest-paid running back in NFL history after registering an Cowboys on a deal value $90m.
The bargain – of that $50m is ensured – surpasses the $60m deal agreed by Todd Gurley with the LA Rams previous year.
The agreement brings to an end 40 days of contract discussions between Elliott and the Dallas franchise ahead of his season opener against the Giants.
While discussions have been continuing, elliott has missed training camp and has been training by himself from Cabo.
With the deal done, the 24-year-old is predicted to combine with the Dallas Cowboys for practice instantly.
